Bio
Born in Córdoba, Spanish dancer Marta Gálvez began dancing flamenco at the age of 3. With this passionate dance in her blood, she moved to Madrid for her studies and in 2008, during her training, she obtained a scholarship for ‘Young Talents’ at the Andalusian Dance Center (CAD), Seville. In 2012 Marta completed her Spanish Dance studies at the Luis del Río Professional Dance Conservatory and only three years later (2015) won the Outstanding Dancing Award of the Choreographic Contest of the Tetuan District of Madrid.
The next year she added to her background a degree in Pedagogy of Spanish Dance and Flamenco from the María de Ávila Superior Dance Conservatory where she studied with legendary Spanish dancers. An impressive performer, Marta’s talent has numerous expressions. She teaches at the Villa de Móstoles Cultural Center and at the Factory Ballet school, works with María Pagés Cía, with the José Porcel Flamenco Ballet, with David Coria Cía and Mercedes de Córdoba Cía, and is a visiting artist in many theatres and festivals round the world.
She is part of the Andalusian Flamenco Ballet, performed at the Corral de la Morería in Madrid, has been a Solo Dancer of Spanish Dance for the Guadalquivir Piano International Festival and together with the pianist and director of this festival Lola Gaitán, performed in Córdoba, her hometown, and in Italy.
