Dulk

Biography

Dulk, or Antonio Segura Donat is now one of the most important names in Valencian painting on an international scale. His work narrates personal, universal and unique stories and creates a dream world with animals and natural spaces that was taking shape in his mind from an early age.

When he turned 18, Antonio tried to study economics for a short while but was clearly not cut out for that and very soon reoriented to illustration and later graphic design at the University of Valencia.

At present Dulk switches between urban art, drawing, painting, sculpture and advertising and each of these media is a challenge he takes with eagerness and imagination. He participated in a lot of group shows around the world in cities as Vancouver, Miami, New York, Brussels, Paris or Chicago. Urban art and mural painting are perhaps what he is most famous for, as well as the expression of his strong ecological conviction to defend ecosystems and the most vulnerable species.

Dulk’s world is a surrealistic landscape is full of imaginary details, rising up in factions against humans.

His style is an explosive combination of influences like Caravaggio's tenebrism or the obsessive detail brushwork of Flemish painting, all mixed with a bizarre, burlesque and affectionate touch that makes it compact, direct and very honest.  His latest initiative is the special “Sudan” fundraiser, jointly with Thinkspace Projects, Spoke Art and Joyeria Suarez and the artist has decided to donate all profits from the sale of the special ring he made to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Nanyuki, Kenya.
