Biography
Dimitar Kalburov, the person with a multitude of interesting and exciting stories, began his literary activity as a translator and editor of subtitles. This actually helped his literary career because, as he puts it himself, „one needs to comply with restrictions all the time and that makes you search for the best way to formulate the utterances, sometimes with very few words”. To a great extent his popularity comes from his participation in “Fairy Tales Post Box” as a storyteller where he has become one of the front faces, but also from his blog and his charm.
His favourite book is George Orwell’s 1984, but he now has several books of his own published. If he ever has the chance to meet a famous writer, that will certainly be Steven King, but his debut novel Damn It is actually dedicated to all those sacrifices we are ready to in the name of love and sex. Sometimes inspiration strikes him out of the blue and he writes holus-bolus.
Being hopelessly romantic, his muse is always a woman, whether a real or an imaginary one.
Dimitar avoids telling real stories. For him it is much more exciting to imagine his own reality populated with crazy characters.
