Show how we can build a better future with innovation, creativity and intellectual property in a 90-second video and win great prizes!

Youth Video Competition

The World Intellectual Property Day 2022 Youth Video Competition is an opportunity for you to share your ideas on how innovation and creativity backed by intellectual property rights can help build a better future.

  1. Register your video entry now for a chance to win digital equipment of your choice worth up to CHF 5,000 and other great prizes.
  2. Record your video clip (no more than 90 seconds) on the theme: We Are Young and Innovative. Let’s build a better future with IP!
  3. Submit your individual or group entry by March 11, 2022.
  4. Winners will be selected through an online public vote and will be announced on World Intellectual Property Day, April 26, 2022.
  5. Get involved, use your voice, be a change maker and help us spread the word about the benefits of innovation, creativity and intellectual property.

Video theme: "We are young and innovative. Let’s build a better future with IP!"

  • Your recording may focus on content of your choice and will show how innovative solutions, supported by intellectual property rights are tackling a given challenge of great concern to young people, for example, climate change, global health, sustainable living, youth empowerment.
  • Videos that ably demonstrate the enabling power of intellectual property to build a better future will be judged favorably.

Eligibility

  • You are between 18-35 years old on March 11, 2022 (the closing date for entries). Participants may be required to provide, upon request, an official document to prove their age.
  • All entries must be received by WIPO by March 11, 2022 at 23:59 (CET).
  • You may enter one individual entry or you may join with your friends and submit a group entry. Only one entry per private individual or group is allowed.
  • Employees or agents of WIPO, their close family members and anyone otherwise connected with the organization of the Competition are not eligible.
  • If the participant(s) do not comply with one of the requirements contained in these Rules, their entry will be withdrawn as ineligible.

Awards

The winners will receive awards as follows:

  • First Prize: Digital equipment to the maximum value of CHF 5,000 (or its equivalent in another currency).
  • Second Prize: Digital equipment to the maximum value of CHF 3,000 CHF (or its equivalent in another currency).
  • Third Prize: Digital equipment to the maximum value of CHF 1,000 CHF (or its equivalent in another currency).
  • WIPO will purchase the digital equipment selected by the top three winners on their behalf.
  • The top 10 best videos will benefit from training opportunities offered by the WIPO Academy.
  • Details of these awards will be announced when the shortlist has been established.
