The winning consortium presented their design during today’s event.

On 17 March, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), held an Award ceremony to announce the anti-counterfeiting Blockathon Infrastructure winner.

And like any great success, the winning design was down to close cooperation, emerging from a group of talented designers and digital architects.

EY Advisory S.p.a. in consortium with Eonpass S.r.l. and Jet Air Service (JAS) S.p.a. were announced the winners of the Anti-counterfeiting Blockathon Infrastructure Design Contest and were presented with their award by the Executive Director, Christian Archambeau.

The winners outlined how their design would boost the fight against counterfeit goods, which pose a considerable risk to consumers and seriously damage the economy and society as a whole.

However, the winning design had some close competition from lnfoCert S.p.A in consortium with Stichting Dyne OrgRiddle & Code GmbHIOV42 Technology GmbHlzertis SA and Sopra Steria Espana who delivered some very stiff competition.

Based on the success of the event, and the deep technical knowledge displayed, it is safe to say the future of blockchain as a tool for IP enforcement, is in good hands.
